The VE.Bus BMS protects each individual component of a Victron lithium-phosphate-iron (LiFePO4 or LFP) battery.
Each individual component of a LiFePO4 battery must be protected against overvoltage, hypovoltage and overheating.
Victron LiFePO4 batteries have a built-in balance, temperature and voltage (BTV) control system
and connected to the VE.Bus BMS with two sets of cables with M8 circular connectors.
Multi-battery BTVs can be daisy-chained.
The BMS will:
Shut down operation or disconnect loads in case of imminent hypotension of an element
Reduce the charging current in case of imminent under-voltage or overheating of the battery
Shut down operation or will disconnect battery chargers in case of imminent overvoltage or battery overheating
